Filter House
Description
A Deco Grand Design
Nestled in a rural village near Truro, this very spacious 3 bedroomed property looks onto a quarry lake with an abundance of wildlife. It is situated on the boundary of the village and is therefore quiet and secluded. The large garden extends into a wooded area populated with rabbits who frequently make appearances. The village has a pub (The Falmouth Arms) and local friendly store open 6 days a week which is just three minutes walk. Ladock is geographically well placed for the north and south coasts and serves as a handy central base to explore the County.
Filter House was built in 1954 by the South Cornwall Water Board as a utility building to pump water to the Roseland Peninsula. It was retired in the 1980’s and left to deteriorate. In 2005 permission was granted to give the property a new lease of life, the massive cast iron filters were removed and the property was transformed into an Art Deco house where attention to detail has been a high priority.
