Best Beaches For An Autumn Holiday

Lantic Bay Holidays

Cornwall has many fine beaches, from small rocky coves to wide open stretches of sand. For those visiting Cornwall in the autumn, these same beaches offer solitude and wilderness, and some of the best views in Cornwall. here are our favourite beaches near Ladock for an autumn stroll.

Perranporth Beach

This two mile stretch of sand is backed by high sand dunes. This beach is popular with surfers. But on a windy autumn day you’re likely to be one of only a few people enjoying this very Cornish scene.

Chapel Porth

This small beach sits at the end of a steep sided valley. There is a National Trust car park and cafe at the bottom of the hill. This is the gateway to a rugged beach, which sits below high cliffs. on top of this cliff are the remains of a tin mine engine house, making this a historic as well as scenic spot.

Porthpean Beach

This is safe, sheltered, sandy beach on the south coast. It’s a picturesque place where you can sit and enjoy the scenery and the wildlife.

Polkerris Beach

Another south coast sandy cove which is teaming in the summer, but quiet in the autumn.

Lantic Bay

This is a real ‘hidden gem’ close to the village of Polruan, accessible by boat from Fowey.  Walk here along the South West Coast Path and enjoy a view over the tree-lined cliffs, green sea and white sand of this lovely beach.
